I experienced some IDE errors some months back with my PAR system and
went back and forth between DPS and Micropolis without any luck in
isololating the problem. Anyway, to make a very long story short, here
is what I discovered. For those of you who own the TBC-IV, the
installation instructions tell you to mount the card right next to the
PAR card for purposes of hooking up that little jumper between the
boards. Only when you do, it leaves just about no room for air flow
between them....and THIS is what was giving me my problems.
I pulled the TBC out and moved it over by one slot. It took a little
playing around to get that jumper to reach over to the PAR, but it DID
work. I have not had a problem since. Oh yeah, I also pulled the back
plates off all of the slots around these cards...
